For the first time in Cuenca, Rod Barthet will share with us his music influenced by blues, rock, pop and soul.
Rod Barthet was 20 when he decided to become a profesional musician : in 1991, he travelled for the first time to San Francisco and played with Tommy Castro, Johnny Nitro, Harvey Mandel (Canned Heat), Ron Thompson and Jim Guyett (bassist of John Lee Hooker). When he heard about Rod Barhet and listened to his music, John Lee Hooker invited the French young man to open his show.
In 1995, Rod Barthet came back to San Francisco with his band, “The Shotgun’s”, to record his first album “Mr Alligator” at the Alpha & Omega Studios. At the time, he’s also the guest of Roy Rogers, Joe Louis Walker, Jimmy Johnson, Bo Diddley, Wilson Picket, Alvin Lee and Mick Taylor.
He released his second album “Changer l’horizon” in 1998. The same year, he met Boris Bergman, which lead them to arrange together 8 songs of Barthet’s next record “Au bout d’ma ligne”.
Rod Barthet’s new LP, “Les filles à l’écoute”, has been presented in Europe and will be now displayed in South America.
